My cool Ross find!
So, you're probably wondering what this random assortment of photos are? Well, they are essentially my kitchen decorations with significant meaning. To start off with, I love the sun. I'm a sun worshiper. So much so that I moved to Southern California from the rainy PNW to be in the SUN! Second, I love Mexico and ceramic suns are popular there. I've purchased many suns on my travels through Mexico, which you can see here in the photos. Secondly, I like St. Francis of Assisi. He was a man of faith, but most of all peace. We used his prayer as a reading in our 03.03.07 wedding ceremony. A month after our wedding, I traveled to Italy and visited the chapel of St. Francis of Assisi. While I was there I purchased the prayer scripted and the tile of him feeding the doves, both displayed in the collage as well. Soooooo...I'm telling you all of this because today I stumbled across this stone plaque at ROSS (of all places). It reads "A single sunbeam is enough to drive away any shadows. -St. Francis of Assisi" and has an image of the rays of a half sun. Well, I'm sure you could imagine my excitement to find a quote from St. Francis AND an image of a sun on the same piece of artwork. The only thing that made this find any better was that it cost $5.99!!! I've always been a believer of decorating your house with art that has meaning; that's why I always love bringing home art from my travels. Read the prayer here. It's beautiful.
