Happy Mother's Day!

 

I was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of a Happy Mother's Day card in the mail today by my friend Julia. It didn't really dawn on me that I too am joining the ranks of motherhood this year. WOW! So I was even more suprised by the unexpected gifts from my husband Dan when he got home from work today. The flowers, chocolate dipped strawberries, ice cream, and cards would have been enough (YES...cards! Not one...but three! And might I add that these are the first three cards that I've ever received from him in four years and I LOVE cards.). But he also picked out this awesome mother & child necklace charm for me. Thanks honey!

I can't write a mother's day blog without mentioning my MOM! I was sad to hear my mom say that she is not celebrating Mother's Day this year. I first thought "what are you talking about" and then soon realized that this will be her first Mother's Day without her mother. It's only been two months since her passing so I know the loss is still very fresh. My mom will also be celebrating my nephew Caleb's birthday tomorrow with the rest of the family so I hope she finds comfort in the festivities with her loved ones (minus my sister and I that are out of state). I LOVE you Mom and will see you in exactly a month!!!
