Little Miss Fuss

Well you haven't heard much from me on my blog this past week (that is because all my family help went home and I've been all ALONE). I can hardly find a moment to shower or pee...let alone computer time. I must say motherhood is much more difficult than I anticipated. Not that I didn't think it was not going to be challenging, I just did not realize how demanding it really is. Brooklyn continues to amaze me with her personality. She has been sleeping like a champ the past few nights but is super fussy during the day and evening. When I say "fussy"...I mean crying a LOT! She will hardly let me put her down. When I finally get her calmed and lay her down to sleep, she'll last only minutes before starting to cry again. I hate to hear her cry so I, of course, pick her back up and start all over. There have been days where I've called Dan wondering how soon he'll be home from work and other days on the phone to my girlfriends in tears. It's so frustrating not being able to calm your baby and especially when you've done everything you know how to do and it doesn't work. We've changed her formula and I've been implementing the "5 S"'s of Happiest Baby on the Block. She's definitely not the happiest baby on our block and I wonder what my neighbors must think I'm doing to the poor baby to get her to cry so LOUD and LONG. Dan reassures me that she IS a baby and that is what they do...CRY! I guess I was just spoiled those first two weeks with a calm baby and family to help. Reality is here and it's kicking my butt! She's still pretty stinkin' cute though...

  1. Charla,

Your baby is too cute. Sounds like Sam when she was born. Jon and I changed her formula too; but that didn't seem to help. That's when we found out that Sam was allergic to milk and soy. She took Nutramagen. Ask your doctor about it. I saw a difference in three days. Does your baby eat really fast? Is she quiet when she is feeding? Doesn't hurt to ask. I feel your pain.
