{Brooklyn} "Own" Bed

After a summer of "co-sleeping", we were anxious to get Brookie out of our bed! And since she completely refuses her crib, we thought this would be a good time to introduce her to her "own bed" (as she calls it now). Unfortunately, I vacationed early this summer solo with her and she got a bit spoiled sleeping with me every night. As soon as we returned to SoCal, there was no returning to her crib. I tell ya, when this little girl makes up her mind...there is no changing it. Dan constantly is rolling his eyes saying that she is a a girl after my own heart and he is pretty much screwed! Poor guy. Two stubborn girls under one roof! When she was 8 months old, she took her binky and threw it. She was done! And I'm not kidding you, she would never take it again...after 8 months of admiration & addiction, she was done with the binky. I kinda love & hate that about her.

Anyways, she has a cute little bed now that her daddy built her. My husband is a suit & tie kind'of guy. I wish you could have heard him put this bed together. It was comedy from afar but if you got too close, you might have been a bit scared from his anger. LOL! And he's not an angry guy...unless he is trying to build something. Luckily, all turned out okay...and Brookie got her "own bed".

Too bad it's only good for reading and playing. She has slept twice in it for two naps for two hours. She has yet to sleep in overnight despite many attempts to do so. Attempts with me sleeping on the floor next to her with a pillow and a blanket. Whatever, the girl has her mind made up that life is just better sleeping with mommy & daddy. Do you blame her?

How cute are these two? They kinda melt my heart. I'm so lucky to have a husband that is an amazing father! He just adores her so much. Here they are practicing the many faces they make together...
