Friday I arrived to San Francisco and explored the city in excitement. I spent the day happy and grateful for such a fun adventure. But half way around the world, it was the worst day of many peoples lives. When Amanda and I returned to our hotel for the evening and flipped on the tube, we were shocked and saddened by all of the devastation taking place in Japan. We looked at each other and expressed our guilt for having such an awesome day in the midst of such despair.
Now that I am a mother, I can't stop thinking about all the families that have been affected by this tragedy. Somewhere there is a child looking for his mom and somewhere a mom is going crazy in fear for her child. I JUST CANNOT IMAGINE. The thought of these families being separated and their loss is just too much!
In these moments, I feel useless. But I'm not and neither are you. I can't jump on a plane and help the people of Japan, but I can give my support so that someone else can. And I can blog about it so that maybe you'll consider giving too.
Enter For Japan With Love. You can read more details HERE and HERE. I'll be participating in a Bloggers Day of Silence this Friday in honor of Japan and to raise awareness of the devastation. Will you join me?
