{Photography} Finding Beauty in the Every Day

Sometimes I'm reminded to slow down and find beauty in the every day. While walking to the book store with my mom and Brookie this weekend, my mom stopped in her tracks and said "look at that fern...it's beautiful!" She may have even gasped. My first thought was "it's a fern, big deal." But after catching myself and not wanting to hurt my moms' feelings, I said "that is actually pretty cool." And it was, really. She did the same thing while driving and pointing out a gas station that had a beautiful island filled with freshly planted flowers. Again I was thinking, "it's a gas station." But the flowers were beautiful and I'm impressed that the owners took the time to plant them for people like mom.

All of the following shots were taken two steps out my front door last night. Things I see every day but pay little to no attention to. I'm glad I have people like my mom to remind me of the beauty in front of us if we just decide to really open our eyes. Mom, this post is for you.
