{San Francisco} I may have left my heart there...

This past weekend was nothing short of amazing! I flew up to San Francisco to capture Erica & Nick's wedding day with my 2nd shooter & friend Amanda. Not only was the wedding a total blast, but we had a fun time exploring the city and capturing it in all it's beauty. Such a fun city! I love it! It would probably be the next best thing to home for me. The seasons of the Northwest but the milder temperatures of California. Hillsides nestled up to the coastline. city full of art, architecture, history, culture, amazing food, and just an all around cool vibe. Although I've been there several times...I felt like I experienced the city for the first all over again, since it's been so long. Would you believe I even enjoyed an ice cream in the rain? I just may have left my heart in San Francisco...

I met Erica and Nick back in August at Melly & Chas wedding in Orinda, California. Erica and her sister Sarah were bridesmaids in Melly's wedding and I was lucky enough to shoot the wedding. They were a fun bunch to capture and asked me if I would consider traveling again to San Francisco for Erica's March wedding. Hmmm, let me think about it.....uh, YES!!!! Then after I shared the day of wedding slideshow at the reception, a deep voice came over my shoulder  "You're being watched". I had a little giggle wondering what he meant and turned around to meet Nick. He asked in amazement, "you took these photos today?" It was an awesome moment, and affirmation of the power of the day of slideshow.

The night progressed and I had the opportunity to hang out with the both of them after the reception back at the hotel, being that I was also a friend of the bride and groom. If there were ever a couple made for me, it is them! Number one, they are just adorably cute and super cool peeps. Number two, we have a lot of crazy stuff in common with one another. Like the fact that they both studied in Spain (so did I) and actually met one another in Barcelona (remember I decided to become a photographer in Barcelona?). Or the fact that both Nick and I went to Washington State University and we are both from Olympia, WA. Or their love for travel and adventure.

So Friday I arrived to San Francisco to shoot their sailing inspired wedding at the St. Francis Yacht Club. We grabbed a few casual shots since I did not shoot their engagement session. How gorgeous are these two? I could not have been more excited for their wedding and honored to be their wedding photographer. You can check out a preview of their wedding photos on my Facebook page. But I'll be posting lots more on my blog. Thank you so much, guys!
