Over Spring Break, Dan & I decided to finally bite the bullet and take our little one to Disneyland for the first time. I'm not sure why I've been putting it off for so long (It's only 17 miles from our home, after all). Maybe because it's ridiculously expensive. Or the crowds. Or the whole princess thing? I'm not sure. But I'm happy to share that it was a good time for all. So much I went twice in one week. I think I deserve a medal or something...Mom of the Year? I am now the proud owner of an annual pass because if I went more than twice in a year, it would pretty much pay for an annual pass anyway.
I'm so glad I waited to take Brookie because it truly was a bit of magic watching her experience it for the first time. It was really endearing seeing how excited Dan got to show her the park too. He grew up near here and frequented Disneyland every year on his Birthday. He's such a kid at heart when it comes to stuff like this. I'm not sure who had more fun...Dan or Brooklyn?
Brooklyn has become quite the Disney movie buff, thanks to her Daddy. She has songs and dialogues memorized and can sit attentively from beginning to end. She has a Disney encyclopedia that Grammy gave her and can identify most characters by name.
Our first ride, "It's a Small World"...of course! It was my one of my favorites of the day.
Although Brookie loves "Finding Nemo", she was a bit scared throughout the submarine ride.
I love this next image of her clinging on to her Daddy.
Lu & CoCo joined us for the second half of the day.
This is Brookie moments before crashing in the stroller for a little midday nap.
When asking Brookie what her favorite part of the day was...she replied the "choo choo train".
She loved it! Especially when the conductor exclaimed "All Aboard!"
DAY TWO:
We returned to Disneyland a week later because my friend and her family were visiting the park for a week on vacation. This is Lake & B with Vidia of Tinkerbell: The Great Fairy Rescue...one of Brookie's all time favorite movies. She was just a bit star struck.

And then she met Tinkerbell herself!
Mia, B, & Lake with Tinkerbell...
We rode the carousel, always a favorite...
And Winnie the Pooh...
We ventured to California Adventure and went on the Toy Story ride. Definitely a fave for me!
The Bell Family!
Would you believe that Jen & I have been friends since kindergarden?
I seriously can't believe where the time has gone. It's especially crazy since she now has a daughter the age we met. I'm extremely grateful that we have remained friends after all of these years. In addition to growing up together, we both went to WSU where she met her husband. She reminded me about the first time I met her husband in college I complained of him wearing too much cologne. LOL! I actually don't remember that...which is also a reminder that time is so precious and I'm getting old!
I was shocked that Brookie kept her 3D glasses on the entire ride.
We stayed for the World of Color show. It was spectacular! Even magical.
I put Brookie on my shoulders so that she could see. I could only here her gasps but I would have loved to seen her face. I could just feel her excitement.
