I've been dying to meet this little girl since the moment I found out that her mommy was pregnant. My friend & co-worker Georgina is one of the last to become a mom in our teacher group. It was so fun following her pregnancy and anticipating the birth of her little girl. 

I have to tell you that it did not come without a bit of worry & stress on behalf of her teacher friends. G is a texting sort of gal. She kept us updated every minute up of her labor until her epidural at 9pm. And then the texts stopped. We all checked our phones obsessively throughout the night and many of us could not sleep. At 6am the next day, all of us friends started texting one another "Have you heard from G?" "I'm worried?" "Do you think everything is okay". We shed a few tears and we thought the worst. This was such a good lesson in the problem with social media and being constantly connected. At least four of her friends (myself included) were super stressed about momma & baby. We started reaching out to our friends/clients that were nurses at her hospital and ultimately her sister that we knew was at the hospital. We finally got confirmation that baby & mom were okay and resting. It had just been an exhausting couple of days without sleep that resulted in the no contact. Sheesh! Thank goodness. I thought about this scare a lot. First I thought what  an amazing group of friends we have that rallied in a moment of scare and how much we love G. And then I thought about the curse of immediate communication. Ugh! 

Luckily Georgina & Dennis brought a beautiful healthy little girl into the world! And I was so happy to capture her first! I've heard that she can be a bit fussy & gassy...but she was pretty much a dream to photograph during my time with her. Welcome baby MJ to this world...
