Although my cousin Jessica & I grew up only one mile from one another, we were not close. It wasn't until we were adults and both pursuing a photography business that we connected. And by that time, we were states away from one another. But luckily for Facebook and social media in general...we fast became friends online. We bounced questions off one another and we started to reacquaint ourselves with one another. It's been fun to discover how much we really have in common...and we have made it a point to get together with one another both in California and Washington when we're able.

We decided to swap family photo sessions with one another, since I would be home in Olympia this past couple of weeks. I've seen a sneak peek of the photos she shot of Brooklyn & I...and I'm already in love. I gotta say that I'm not a fan of myself in photos...but there is just something undeniably wonderful of having photos of yourself with your little one. Everyone needs to have those photos. Because time flies entirely too fast and those littles will be big before you know it. Jess, I'm so happy to call you not only a cousin but now a friend. I love the moments we get to spend together. And you and Charlie pretty much made the cutest baby in the world. I love that little guy Cruz!
