Last month I had the opportunity of shooting one of my roommates best friends wedding in Big Bear. I walked away from this wedding feeling like I was just part of a huge love fest. Every single member of the wedding party, family, and guests were so welcoming and friendly. I can hardly wait to go back to visit and hang out with these peeps again. Not only did I shoot for a good 10+ hours...I easily danced for at least four more. It was a marathon day but so so much fun! I could hardly walk the next day!
Lauren & Daren had planned on marrying at the Summit at Big Bear. The guests were to arrive via the chair lift and the ceremony would take place with the best view from the mountain. Mother Nature had other plans. There were flash flood warnings the morning of the wedding. Which was hard to imagine considering the blue skies and the sun peeking out from the white fluffy clouds. Thunder, lightening, and torrential rainfall was soon to follow. And, of course, it only arrived after the reception venue was set up outside. The entire wedding party and family soon began running around to preserve the decorations and place settings. Everyone rallied wearing black trash bags in an attempt to stay somewhat dry. Although a disappointment initally, the ceremony location was quickly moved to the barn at the reception venue....which turned out to be stunning! I was especially impressed how the bride and groom remained calm in the midst of the chaos. At the end of the day, everyone agreed that it was probably one of the best weddings we had ever attended. It was that much fun!
