{Venus + Davey} Red Horse Barn | Huntington Beach Wedding Photographer

Saturday I shot my last wedding for 2011. It was the perfect fall wedding...complete with great weather, fun details, an amazing couple, and family and friends to celebrate with. I know I probably sound like a broken record because I always say how awesome my clients are...but they are!

Venus & Davey are especially awesome. They have been together for quite some time (10 years?) and have a long history of unimaginable loss in their lives. There were so many emotional moments throughout the day by them, their wedding party, and their guests. There were lives remembered, honored, & celebrated on their wedding day. Their special day together was a tribute to their loved ones past & present. It was beautiful. And I could feel the love that surrounds them. And I say that with the utmost honesty.

I loved everything about your wedding day, Venus & Davey. I'm so grateful to have been a part. Thank you. Now go make some babies...so we can work together again soon!

I posted a full preview yesterday on my Facebook fan page, but here are a few of my faves from the day.

Venus was such a stunning bride!
My only regret is that we did not have more time to capture her.

Davey loves to surf, so I love this image Amanda captured of their wedding rings...

I thought throwing the parasols in the air would make for a fun shot and thank god I captured it in one shot...because we weren't anticipating them coming down. Ouch. Thanks for doing it anyways guys. :)

The Red Horse Barn was such a fun venue and the team from Event Horizons were especially awesome!
All of the wedding details were amazing.
Venus is a school teacher, so I loved the chalk boards & apples. She did not leave one detail undone.
And from what I hear, Davey cut all the wood bases.
I absolutely love their wedding poem. It explains their wedding decor and even more, their life...

"Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
And the sky of the sky of the tree called life;
Which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide
And this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
I carry your heart
I carry it in my heart."
- E.E. Cummings

You can see their wedding story here...
A special thanks to Jamie for shooting with us too!
