{Integratron} Girl's Adventure 2013 | Part I

I started this year off with a new mantra..."this year will be the year of adventure." I had lived the past few complicated by work and relationships and an overall stress that overcame me. I really felt a profound need to take myself back to my roots and who I am at my core. I know a few things about my self to be true. I love travel & adventure. I am inspired my shared experiences and relationships. And the mundane tasks in life are the end of me. I long for new experiences that take me away from it all. This trip exemplified everything I love!!!

On a whim while visiting my longest life friend Jen...I got invited (or maybe I invited myself?) on a girls day trip to Joshua Tree. I had been staying with her down in San Diego and she already had this trip planned with two of her friends. Two friends that would soon become mine. Girls that spoke my language and by the end of the day, I felt I had known them for years. Kindred spirits. We rose at the crack of dawn, before the sun rose, and chatted our way to our destination.

I want to remember this year. It still proves to be challenging...but it holds promises to come. I just know it. And it was the perfect day to kick-start this new chapter of mine.

Something as silly as walking on a fence ledge inspires me.
Grown adults not afraid to play as the sun rises in the distance. Magic.

Yeah, apparently we don't listen to or follow signs...

We stopped for breakfast on our way...
...only to be discouraged by the 'B' rating of this restaurant. Needless to say, we did not eat here...but I was thoroughly entertained by the conversations that ensued by this rating.

Our second stop of the day was at the Integratron
Home to the desert sound bath...an unforgettable experience, for sure.

What is the Sound Bath?  The Sound Bath is a 60-minute sonic healing session that you can experience while resting comfortably in the deeply resonant, multi-wave sound chamber. A sequence of quartz crystal singing bowls  are played for you, each one keyed to the energy centers or chakras of the body, where sound is nutrition for the nervous system.  Imagine lying on comfy mats in the center of this relaxing and resonant high-energy field, while having your body bathed in exquisite sound for 25 minutes. You have the balance of the hour to relax. The results are waves of peace, heightened awareness, and relaxation of the mind and body.

I really can't believe that I've know this girl for 33 years....since kindergarten! I'm so incredibly grateful that she is my So-Cal neighbor now....and that we get to see one another frequently...and that no matter what our friendship just always resumes where we left off last. She is some seriously good peeps!

 The acoustic dome...
All of the Integratron visitors ready for the experience....
The crystal quartz bowls that produce amazing sound & peace....

We could not have asked for a better or more beautiful day. The sun was shining. The sky was blue. The clouds were were white & fluffy. And all was good in the world in this one moment. These images bring me back to that day. It was a day well lived. I want more of those days in my life.

We started the day as strangers...and ended the day as friends. Some seriously awesome girls!

Stay tuned for PART II when we venture into Joshua Tree National Park. After being a resident of SoCal for 13+ plus years, I can't believe this is the first time visiting there. AMAZING!
